Chief Strategy Officer and Trustee
 

As chief strategy officer, Elaine oversees programs at the Ghose Foundation.  Her role utilizes foundation resources to invest in innovations that demonstrate meaningful change and capture and communicate evidence of impact on the world’s most pressing problems for women and children.

Elaine leads business planning and operations at Genentech in San Francisco, where she leverages her over ten years of biopharmaceutical experience in medical affairs, in-line marketing and new product planning.  Previously, Elaine led marketing and product strategy at PDL BioPharma and Chiron (now Novartis International AG).

Elaine has broad therapeutic experience in the areas of oncology, transplantation, gastroenterology, cardiology, liver and infectious diseases.  She also has commercial pre-launch experience in advanced liver disease and transplantation.

Elaine studied biochemistry at the University of California, Berkeley and received a Pharm.D. from the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF).
